Safety glasses cases

When it comes to packaging, many of us don’t give it a second thought. We struggle to open it sometimes, and often discard it right away – and that’s the end of it. But packaging is more important than one might think – in fact, we are directly influenced but what we purchase is packaged in, be it tamper evident clamshell packaging or a paper bag. Nearly 70% of all consumers have purchased something new and tried out a new product all because they liked the packaging and it was in some way eye catching, according to a study done by The 2016 West Rock Consumer Insights Study.

Many consumers have also become concerned with the environmental impacts of the products they purchase – and nearly have of consumers look top purchase products that have environmentally friendly packaging. Unfortunately, however, over 30 million tons of plastic products and packaging are improperly disposed, making even green packaging less effective. Much of this plastic goes on to damage and harm marine life, ending up in the ocean and other bodies of water and causing over $10 billion in damages every single year. One estimation has shown that, if we do not change how we dispose of our plastic products and packaging (from tamper evident clamshell packaging to retail packaging), it is entirely possible that by the year 2050, in less than fifty years, there could be more plastic in the ocean than there are fish. Plastic packaging ending up in landfills is also a problem, as nearly 40% of all the plastic produced in one year ends up in a landfill and over 30% was considered leaked into the environment, meaning that it polluted both land and sea in some way, shape, or form.

Fortunately, there are steps that we can all take to reduce the impact of plastic packaging on the environment. Take tamper evident clamshell packing (also referred to as blister packaging) for example. Tamper evident clamshell packaging is useful for many different applications. It can be used for safety glasses cases as well as for other purposes, but it regarded highly for its resistance to tampering and its durability. However, tamper evident clamshell packaging can be made to be more environmentally friends, as clamshell packaging can often be reusable. Simple just reusing plastic products and packaging a well as recycling them can have a huge positive impact on the environment, as it keeps plastic products out of landfills and out of the environment.
