The five types of load cells range from strain gauge type load cells to diaphragm and hydraulic, spool type load cells and ring type load cells are also commonly used in the field of engineering. The type of load cell that you ultimately choose will depend on not only the primary force, but the secondary force as well as a number of other factors. For instance, the hydraulic load cells are ideal to use in extreme temperatures, as it can function accurately at temperatures that hit as low as negative sixty degrees Fahrenheit.
