Taking a Look At The Importance Of Modular Construction In The United States And All Around The World

From warehouse partitioning systems to in-plant modular offices, modular construction has been soaring in popularity in recent years. There are many reasons for this to be the case, from the environmental friendliness of this kind of construction to the relatively low cost of it as well. Regardless of why people are choosing to pursue methods of modular construction, there have been many applications discovered for it, from in-plant modular offices to warehouse offices to even modular homes.

In fact, modular methods of construction have even become popularly used for hotel structures. Modular methods have become pursued more and more frequently for such building purposes. In fact, the Marriot has stated that they intend to utilize nearly fifteen percent modular construction methods in any new construction that they build in North America. This commitment was first made in the year of 2017, but has so far been proven to be a true one that they have made.

And it’s not just hotels. Now up to forty nine percent of healthcare facilities are built using modular methods of construction at least in part. On top of this, more than forty percent of all college buildings, including college dorms and other such student housing, incorporate modular construction. And the same percentage of manufacturing facilities all throughout the country have put modular construction to use. Of course, in-plant modular offices use modular methods of construction as well and have also become widely popular as a method of construction and creation.

One of the main benefits of pursuing methods of modular construction for structures such as in-plant modular offices and the like is that modular construction reduces costs quite considerably, particularly when compared to more traditional methods of construction. In fact, costs can be cut by as much as twenty percent when modular construction methods are used. Typically, though costs are not always cut by as much as ninety percent, they are typically cut by no less than nine percent, which is still a considerable amount by any means and not a percentage that should be overlooked or discounted.

Expenses can also be saved when we look at the fact that modular construction projects can typically be completed much more quickly than your average construction process using traditional methods of construction. This is thanks to the fact that much of the modular construction process is completed within a factory setting. Constructing the vast majority of modular construction in a factory setting can mean that modular construction projects are completed as much as ninety percent more quickly than construction projects completed through more traditional means.

On top of these already compelling reasons to build in-plant modular offices and other such modular buildings, it must also of course be noted that modular construction methods are hugely environmentally friendly in comparison to more traditional methods of construction. Whereas traditional methods of construction tend to accrue quite a bit of waste products by the time that the construction has ended, modular construction is able to reduce this overall waste produced by a considerable amount – as much as ninety percent. This is because methods of modular construction and modular construction products simply don’t use the wide array of materials that traditional methods of construction will, from the lumber to the concrete to even shrink wrap. In fact, methods of modular construction will often even use recycled materials such as used shipping containers, even further reducing the waste that is created.

From in-plant modular offices to modular homes to college dormitories built using modular techniques and from materials like old shipping containers and storage containers, there are many different possible applications for modular construction not only here in the United States but in many other places all around the world as well. The benefits of modular construction are huge and are not ones that can so easily be discounted. In fact, they are so beneficial that more and more of the world is interested in modular construction now than at any point in the history of construction.
